Free Book Vs Gift Card—Inquiring Minds Want To Know

So many authors—myself included—give away a free book (their choice) as an incentive to leave a comment on their blog or to leave a review on the many e-book sites. As a reader, what would you rather have?

Inquiring Minds want to know. Would you rather have a print book that you can hold in your hand, or would you prefer a gift card (voucher) that you can go download something of your choice?

Wait For It-----

As an added incentive to leave your opinion, I’m giving one lucky winner a choice between a signed copy of a book from my collection—or a gift code to download a book of your choosing.

The Readers Voice—Inquiring Minds Want To Know

With so many books out in the world, it’s the readers voice I’m most interested in. I can get advice from other authors any time, but in the end, what I really crave is the feedback from a reader. What do you do to get your voice out there?

Seriously—inquiring minds want to know. Do you post on an authors blog, web page, Facebook page? Do you send an email to the publisher on what you would like to read?

As an added incentive, everyone who leaves a comment will be entered into a drawing for an autographed book of one of my personal favorite authors.

Linda Castillo

The Perfect Character—Inquiring Minds Want To Know

When reading a book with a main character who has a dark past, and the potential for a dark future, are you—as the reader—looking for a redeeming quality, or should the darkness be allowed to manifest?

Seriously, Inquiring minds want to know. My WIP (work in progress) has such a character and I keep thinking that no matter how hard I try to make him a better man, I just can’t. All I can see is his evil side.

As an added bonus, everyone who leaves a comment will be entered to win an autographed copy of the award willing novel, Bridge Over Troubled Waters.

What’s In A Name? Inquiring Minds Want To Know!

As a writer, the first thing I do is come up with a title for my book. Sometimes I change it, sometimes it’s changed for me, but more times than not, it stays as is.

But how important is that title when you’re scrolling through the book websites or strolling through the bookstore?

Seriously. What catches your eye more? The title or the cover?   As an added incentive for your advice, everyone who leaves a comment will be placed into a drawing for a signed copy of my book, The Dragon Within, the second in my Dragon Hunters Series.

Where Have All The Reviewers Gone? Inquiring Minds Want To Know!

Have you recently read a book? What was it? And what were your thoughts about that book? Did you go to a website and leave a review? NO? Why not?
Inquiring minds want to know. Seriously. Why didn’t you leave a review? Did you just not know what to say? Did you hate the book so much that you would rather not say anything at all? I ask these things not as a guilt trip to get you to go review all those books that you’ve read, but because I want to know why a reader wouldn’t leave a review.

As an added incentive for your advice, everyone who leaves a comment will be placed into a drawing for a signed copy of my book, Dragon Lover, the first in my Dragon Hunters Series.

What Makes You Attend A Book Signing? Inquiring minds want to know.

Jeanne Guzman signing Bridge Over Troubled Waters and Child Of The Dragon
So, you read about it on FB, or see it a few hundred times where the bird tweets non-stop, but what about an announcement makes you jump into your car and travel to the book store or to a near-by writers conference to have a book signed by an author you’ve never heard of before?

Inquiring minds want to know. Seriously. I was recently at a writers conference that advertised their book-signing and no one showed up but the authors signing books. I even went as far as walking the streets and telling perfect strangers to stop by, but NO ONE  showed up. Is it me? Am I doing something wrong? As a reader, what would you suggest I do?
